3年目の本年は、申請時に提出した研究計画に沿って以下のような調査研究と成果発表を行った。１．資料調査：1910年日英博覧会に関わった人物の資料調査（1）石橋和訓：7月24日、島根県出雲市佐田町、石橋和訓ご遺族宅での自筆書簡等の調査；（2）桑原羊次郎：11月21日、島根大学附属図書館桑原文庫の資料を調査、撮影。（3）国家を表象する女神像についての図像収集、古代神話に関する資料収集と分析、２．博士論文の執筆　３．学会誌『美術史』と『近代画説』への投稿　４．研究会への参加：桑原羊次郎、相見香雨研究会、4月25日、7月8日、8月1日、11月28日、12月12日、2月20日　５．展覧会の開催：「松江が生んだ美術史家・相見香雨－九州大学文学部所蔵『自筆調査録』展」7月11日－31日、島根大学附属図書館：作品選定、展示作業；8月18－19日、九州大学文系合同図書室への相見香雨自筆調査録一式返却作業本年は特に、研究課題である1910年日英博覧会に「地域美術史」という視点からアプローチすることができた。国家的イベントである日英博に島根県という限られたエリアから3人もの美術関係者（画家の石橋和訓、美術史家の相見香雨、桑原羊次郎）が関わっていたことについて調査し、成果の一部を展覧会の中で公開できたことは大変意義深かった。昨今の美術史研究で注目されている「地縁」の問題は博覧会研究にも新しい地平を拓くと考えられる。地方を研究拠点にしていたことをメリットとして活用できたので、研究環境についても新しい可能性を見いだせたのではないかと思う。また国家を表象する女神像の研究にあたっては日本古代史研究者と緊密に連携し、近代史と古代史の結節点を作ることができた。今後の研究の進展が大いに期待できるので、引き続きこの課題については追究していきたい。
