当研究課題の目標は，人間の社会的認知の根幹をなす道徳能力の神経基盤を解明することである．特に，他者への心的帰属に関わる脳部位と道徳的判断に関わる脳部位の同定を行い，それらの相互作用の解明を目指す．そのために実験哲学における「副作用効果」に注目する．さらに，心的帰属に困難を抱えているとされる自閉スペクトラム症(ASD)者を対象に実験を行い，副作用効果の有無，また，その神経基盤も検討する．当該年度は，理論面において，道徳の計算原理と意図性認知との関係や，その獲得・学習機構について考察した論考を出版した．また，道徳についての神経科学探究の有する規範的な含意について考察した論考を出版した．これらの考察に基づき，多数のシナリオを作成し，松元健二教授の協力の下，ASD群19名を対象にfMRI実験を行い，脳機能・構造データを取得した．また，幅広い年齢の被験者をリクルートし，IQを計測した．その中から19名を対象として，fMRI実験を行い，脳機能・構造データを取得した．両群で，既存のシナリオ以外においても副作用効果が確認されたが，その強さは定型発達群と比較してASD群で有意に減少していた．また，帰結が中立的であるが道徳的に良い意図あるいは悪い意図を持っていた行為に対する道徳判断を比較することで，道徳判断においてどれだけ意図を重視するかの指標（DOI: degree of intentionism）を得た．DOIは，定型発達群と比較してASD群では有意に減少していた．さらに，副作用効果の強さとDOIとの間には正の相関が見られたことから，副作用効果には道徳と意図との間の双方向性の連合が関与していることが示唆された．これらの結果は第39回日本神経科学大会，および第46回北米神経科学学会などで発表された．今後は脳機能の解析結果と併せて論文の執筆・投稿を進める．
