古墳時代・三国時代において高位の人々の身分を表すものとして、冠・飾履・耳飾などがある。このような器物は、各王権の中央勢力が地方に配布・下賜したものと理解され、威信材としての役割を担当していたと解釈される。本研究では、 三国・古墳時代における日韓交渉史を研究するため、このような性格を持つ金工品の中で特に帯金具という器物にに注目する。今年は、去年行った中国の晋式帯金具や三燕・高句麗の帯金具に続き、朝鮮半島南部に存在していた百済・新羅・加耶と日本列島の倭から出土した帯金具に注目した。まず、徹底した資料の集成に基づき、型式学的分析からその製作年代や展開過程、特質を明らかにした。古墳時代中期という限定された時期に製作された倭の帯金具の特質を、当時百済、加耶、新羅の帯金具を分析することで明らかにすることができた。一方、帯金具のような金工品には、使用工具の痕跡が表面に残っている事例が多いことから、金工品の製作技術を理解する上で重要な器物と評価される。第2部では、帯金具の彫金技術に注目することで、製作痕跡、工具、工人、製作体制について検討を行った。特に、今まで10点出土している龍文透彫帯金具は、新羅、百済、倭に広く分布しており、製作技術のみならず、国際関係を考えるにおいても重要である。第2部では、日韓に渡って出土している龍文透彫帯金具の彫金技術、鋲の製作方法を比較することで、金工品の製作モデルを提示した。以上で内容をまとめ、博士論文の予備審査に提出することができた。
