本研究課題に関する本年度の実績はおもに以下の３点である。第一は、ボスニア併合に至るまでのハプスブルク帝国内における動向を外国語論文にまとめたことである。筆者は昨年度、当時の共通財務大臣ブリアーンによる併合計画に着目し、彼の手になる併合に関する２つの覚書、ならびに併合前夜の帝国中枢における議論の内容をまとめた。本年はこの成果を大幅に加筆修正したうえで、併合までの経緯をドイツ語論文にまとめた。第二は、ボスニア憲法制定に至る過程の検討に進んだことである。具体的には、当時のオーストリア下院議員、ウィーン工科大学教授であったヨーゼフ・レートリヒの作成した「併合法」、「ボスニア憲法」の草案に関する所見書に着眼した。先行研究がレートリヒの役割についてはほとんど注目してこなかったことに鑑みつつ、彼の併合、ならびに「併合法」に関するレートリヒの意見、とりわけハンガリーの要求に対する否定的態度とその背景の解明を試みた。さらにボスニア憲法草案に対する所見から、彼のボスニア自治に関する考えを浮かびあがらせることにも努めた。もっともこれについては、史資料の追加収集や分析を進め、2018年度中には学術雑誌に投稿する。第三は、ハプスブルク帝国によるボスニア統治を同時代の植民地支配に位置づける試みである。ハプスブルクのボスニア支配は同時代においては一定の評価を得ていたことは近年までほとんど知られていなかった。しかし日本は台湾を獲得した後、後藤新平（台湾総督府民政長官）や新渡戸稲造（殖産局長）らがボスニアに向かい、統治の実態を調査していたのである。そのなかで筆者は、台湾総督府から森林政策の視察のために派遣された市島直治によって残された報告書を軸として、同時代日本人の視線からボスニア統治像の一端を検証した。今後は本年度におこなったサライェヴォにおける現地調査の結果を補いつつ、論文にまとめることを目指す。

The author, the Taiwan General Administration, sent a report on forest policy inspection to the city and island government, and the contemporary Japanese people's vision showed that one end of the management image was verified. In the future, the results of this year's on-site investigation will be supplemented, and the paper will be directed.
