项目摘要

本研究の主な目的は、南琉球宮古語の下地地域で話されている諸方言を記述することである。そのため、様々な方言を調査し、正確な言語データの収集に努めた。また、現代の宮古語が消滅危機言語であることを考慮し、その言語を記録・保存できるように良質で正確な言語的資料を多く作成し、整理することも本研究の重要な課題の一つでもある。方言の文法を記述するために、良質の言語テキストが不可欠である。前年度（2015－2016）の現地滞在を経て、多良間方言、與那覇方言、来間方言、友利方言、平良方言、上地方言、砂川方言、新城方言、松原方言、上野方言、入江方言、川満方言、狩俣方言、池間方言などの言語テキストを採集することができた。特に、継承が既に途絶えている伝統的な民話を数点ほど（友利方言2点、平良方言5点）採集することに成功した。そのほかに、以下の研究成果を挙げた。・第二対格の再建：諸方言を比較することにより、第二対格の古い形式を突き止め、「*-ba」に遡ることを示した。ほとんどの方言では、第二対格の形式が「-a」に変わり、主題「-a」と同音になったが、このように、元々別の形態素であったことが確認できた。・「-b-」の弱化・消失：第二対格の再建により、様々な方言において形態素の境界の環境で母音間の「b」が弱化し、消失したという変化があったことを示した。その変化は、第二対格に限らず、動詞の質問形、譲歩形や理由形に起こったことが確認できた。宮古祖語の動詞体系を再現するに当たって重要な成果である。・古謡の韻律数と語形：宮古諸島で口頭伝承で数多くの歌が伝わっているが、その中で300年前以前に成立したと思われるものもある。古謡には規則的な韻律数が存在し、その制限により、語形が変えられていることを示した。この結果は、古謡を言語資料として使うために不可欠である。
