项目摘要

今年度は以下の三点について調査・研究を実施した。①米国の東アジア政策の変容と沖縄返還の関係について検討を行った。前年度までに沖縄県公文書館及び米国立公文書館等で収集した史料及び学内所蔵史料を検討した後、韓国・日本の国会図書館や外交史料館、米国のニクソン大統領図書館及び国立公文書館で史料調査を行った。研究の過程において、「日韓次世代学術フォーラム第13回国際学術大会」及び「現代史研究会」で報告を行い、「米国の東アジア政策の変容と沖縄返還問題」『二十世紀研究』17（2016年）として論文化した。検討の結果、これまで明らかにされてこなかった、沖縄返還実現前後の日米韓の政策決定者間の、在韓米軍削減、米中接近等をめぐる思惑の交差が明らかとなった。②復帰前後の沖縄への自衛隊配備をめぐる外交・政治過程について、日本・米国・沖縄の三者間の相互作用に着目して検討した。前年度までに沖縄県公文書館及び米国立公文書館等で収集した史料や学内所蔵史料を検討した後、東京・沖縄で二度ずつ史料調査を実施し、途中経過を「15年戦争研究会」、「沖縄近現代史若手会議」等で発表した。また、その成果を「沖縄返還と自衛隊配備」として論文化し、『同時代史研究』に投稿した。検討の結果、沖縄に自衛隊が配備される過程が詳細に明らかになるとともに、自衛隊配備問題を国際関係史の中に位置づける見通しが得られた。③沖縄の帰属をめぐる1950年代の韓国・中華民国政府（国府）の認識について検討した。以前投稿した研究ノートが掲載見送りとなったため、台湾で追加的に史料調査を行い、国府が支援していた琉球革命同志会や、韓国政府・国府が中心となって結成し、琉球革命同志会の代表も参加していた「アジア民族反共連盟」についての史料を収集した。今後は韓国でも追加的に史料調査を行い、研究ノートにこれらの史料の分析結果を反映させて論文化する予定である。
