本研究の最終目的は，末梢性疲労，中枢性疲労，制御機能，さらには認知機能と，スポーツで想定される多くの疲労を予防する現場応用可能な糖質摂取方法を明らかにすることである．その目的達成のために，本年度は実験1-2として「運動時の糖質飲料によるマウスリンスが認知機能に与える効果」を検証した．実験1-2の目的は，糖質飲料によるマウスリンスが持続的な高強度運動後に生じる実行機能の低下を抑制するか否かを検証することであった．【方法】対象者は成人男女8名とし，糖質マウスリンス（CHO）条件および水マウスリンス（CON）条件をクロスオーバーで実施した．CHO条件ではマルトデキストリン6.4%濃度の飲料を用いた．最大酸素摂取量の75%に相当する強度での65分間のトレッドミル走運動の前後に認知機能を評価した．ディスプレイに呈示される色付き漢字のインク色をキー押しにより回答するストループ課題を用い，呈示される漢字のインク色と漢字の意味が一致しているCongruent試行条件，インク色と漢字の意味が一致していないIncongruent試行条件をランダムに合計150問実施した．実行機能の評価指標はIncongruent試行条件の反応時間とした．【結果】Incongruent試行条件で反応時間に対する有意な交互作用（マウスリンス条件×運動前後）が認められ，CON条件で運動後に反応時間の延長が見られたが，CHO条件では運動前後で有意な変化は見られなかった．Congruent試行条件では反応時間に対する交互作用（マウスリンス条件×運動前後）および主効果に有意性が認められなかった．正答率は両マウスリンス条件において運動前後で有意に変化しなかった．【結論】糖質マウスリンスを行うことにより運動後の認知機能の低下が抑制された．
