今年度の主な研究結果は、論文 “A North-South model of outsourcing and growth” にまとめられており、この論文は国際学術雑誌 Review of Development Economics に掲載が受理された。この論文では、North（先進国）の各最終財企業が South（開発途上国）からどれくらいの割合の中間財を輸入するか，つまり海外アウトソーシング（オフショアリングあるいはフラグメンテーションとも呼ばれる）の程度が内生的に決定する North-South の内生成長モデルを構築し、先進国の中間財セクターの貿易自由化（非関税障壁の低下）が経済にどのような影響があるかを分析した。その結果、先進国の貿易自由化は (i) 先進国から途上国への海外アウトソーシングを増加させ、(ii) 先進国のR&D活動を促進することで、両国の経済成長率を上昇させ、(iii)　両国の社会厚生を上昇させることを一般的に示した。さらに、社会厚生の上昇度合いは先進国よりも途上国のほうが大きいことも示された。この論文で構築したモデルを拡張することで、昨年度の目標であった特許保護と最適関税率の関係についての分析を行いたいと考えている。また、2017年度以前から研究を行っていた、知的財産権保護と貿易、経済成長に関する研究（論文タイトル ”On the trade, growth, and welfare effects of intellectual property rights protection” ）も国際学術雑誌 Southern Economic Journal に掲載が受理された。この論文では自国と外国の両国が各国内の最終財の生産性を改善するR&Dに従事し、最終財生産に必要な多数の中間財を比較優位に基づいて貿易しているモデルを構築した。分析の結果、これまでの先行研究の結果とは対照的に、知的財産権保護のナッシュ均衡水準が世界全体の社会厚生を最大化する水準よりも過剰である可能性を示した。

This year's main research results, papers "A North-South model of outsourcing and growth" were published in the International Academic Journal Review of Development Economics. This paper discusses the final financial resources of North (advanced countries) and South (developing countries). The extent of this growth is endogenously determined by the construction of an endogenous growth model in the North-South, and the impact of trade liberalization (lowering of non-tariff barriers) on intermediate wealth in advanced countries. As a result, trade liberalization in advanced countries has generally shown (i) an increase in overseas development in advanced countries,(ii) an increase in R&D activities in advanced countries, and (iii) an increase in China's social health. Today, the rise of social welfare is in line with the progress of the country. This paper constructs a framework for the analysis of the relationship between franchise protection and optimal tariff rate. Research on intellectual property rights protection, trade and economic growth conducted before fiscal year 2017 (Paper entitled "On the trade, growth, and welfare effects of intellectual property rights protection") was published in Southern Economic Journal, an international academic journal. This paper aims to improve the productivity of final products in China and foreign countries, and to construct a framework for the improvement of final products 'R&D, production, and most of the necessary intermediate products' comparative advantages. The results of this analysis and the results of our previous studies demonstrate the possibility of maximizing the level of social well-being of the world as a whole by protecting the well-being of the world's population.
