项目摘要

まず、ジョルジュ・バタイユの初期（1930年前後）の芸術論（美術雑誌『ドキュマン』での活動）を対象とした研究をおこない、その成果を発表した。つぎに、それを戦後からバタイユの晩年にかけての芸術論を扱った前年までの研究と関連づけ、俯瞰的な視点からバタイユの芸術論全体を検討した。彼の初期の芸術論は、ディディ=ユベルマンやクラウス、ボワらによってイメージ論や現代美術論の文脈に組み込まれた。バタイユ研究に関しても彼らの影響力は強いが、それらはバタイユの思想を発展的に継承するものであり、時にバタイユの主張から逸脱する。このような状況にたいし、本研究ではバタイユのテクストの精読に力点を置くことで既往研究の見直しをおこなった。それによって、この時期のバタイユの芸術論（とりわけ創造行為論）において中心的な課題が模倣芸術への反抗であることを明らかにした。バタイユにとって模倣芸術への反抗は、至高で自由な生の回復を目指したひとつの手段となり得る。以上のような初期の芸術論を対象とした研究を進めたことで、バタイユの芸術論（とりわけ造形芸術論）を網羅的に取り上げる一連の作業が完了した。それらを踏まえ、芸術論全体を俯瞰した考察を進めた。バタイユの芸術論に一貫した傾向として、「幼年期」的な生、あるいは「子ども」の態度への志向があるという観点に立ち、個々の芸術論を「幼年期」あるいは「子ども」のあり方のバリエーションを示すものと捉えた。それによって、別々に発表された諸芸術論の関係性を浮き彫りにし、議論の発展の過程を跡づけた。くわえて、はじめは芸術論と関わりのない文脈で用いられていた「自己意識」概念が、晩年の著作では芸術のひとつの目的とされることに着目し、「自己意識」概念の内実の変遷を辿ることで、バタイユにおける芸術の意義の変化を考察した。こうして、バタイユの芸術論全体について新たな見解を示し得たと考える。
