Priority Programme Witnesses of Cosmic History: Formation and evolution of black holes, galaxies and their environments, to be coordinated by the present proposer. I shall describe the way this Priority Programme has been and shall be organized and coordinated, in order to provide a framework for collaborative research on the topic of galaxy evolution and related fields of astronomy, as well as suggested measures to keep up communication between participants, to make effective use of resources, to achieve internationally highly competitive and collaborative scientific progress in the field, and to train the next generation of young researchers who will be the prime users of planned and upcoming instrumental developments.
