本研究は、平安宮廷歌謡の催馬楽について「二重の同音性」という音楽的な性質を踏まえ、史料の分析に基づきつつ、平安期宮廷社会における催馬楽の社会的機能と文化的展開について明らかにすることを目的としている。計画では、A. 平安期初期歌合と相撲節とにおける歌舞奏楽の機能を明らかにする、B.『順次往生講式』における「極楽声歌」「西方楽」の旋律分析を行う、C.『催馬楽略譜』の史料価値について評価する、の３点を具体的な目標とした。（A）先年度に引き続き、平安期初期歌合、相撲節についての分析を進める過程で、同じく平安時代に行われていた宮廷儀式である、大嘗会や算賀、内宴、白馬節会、踏歌節会、菊花宴などに研究範囲を広げ、儀礼における宮廷歌謡の様々な享受のされ方についての理解を深めた。「風俗歌・東遊歌の本文をめぐる研究展望」（日本歌謡学会、5月）「催馬楽と女性―内教坊の奏する唐楽〈催馬楽〉について」（全国大学国語国文学会、6月）（B）（A）、（C）の課題を優先したため、『順次往生講式』についての本格的資料調査は今後の課題とする。先年度まで、および今年度に得られた基礎分析の結果については、再整理して公開に備えたい。（C）天理大学附属天理図書館蔵、綾小路家旧蔵『催馬楽譜』、および『催馬楽略譜』ほか計10点についての資料調査を行った。『催馬楽譜』は綾小路信俊（1355-1439）筆とされる催馬楽の声律譜で、『催馬楽略譜』との書承関係が注目されるものである。今回の調査では、新たに料紙に切り継ぎや胡粉による修正痕が多数確認された。切継や修正がどの段階で行われたのか、『催馬楽略譜』との比較分析を通じて検証を行うことで、『催馬楽略譜』の成立過程についても、一定程度明らかにできる見通しが立ってきた。先年度までに得られた基礎分析の結果と合わせ、再整理して成果公開に備えたい。
