引き続き古代エジプト中王国時代の葬送における装身具利用について研究をおこなった。これまでは装身具全体の利用の様相を明らかにすべく、地域ごとの出土傾向等の分析に重点を置いていたが、当該年度はより当時の視点から装身具利用を理解するために新たな分析をおこなった。具体的には、未盗掘あるいは残存状況の良好な墓のみを集成し、副葬された装身具の組成および副葬位置のパターンを抽出した。そして、図像・文字資料を考慮しつつ、そのパターンの背景を考察した。その結果、装身具の副葬と当時の葬送における食糧以外の供物奉献儀礼との関連性が明らかとなった。2018年９月から2019年３月まではベルギーのルーヴェン大学で研究をおこない、中王国時代の埋葬習慣研究を牽引してきた教授から個別指導を受けた。上記の研究成果はその一部である。当該年度の研究成果はすでに論文として2019年３月に刊行された『西アジア考古学』20号に掲載されている。装身具の組成・副葬位置の分析に際しては、中王国時代だけではなく新王国時代の例にも当たり、両時代の類似点や相違点を検討した。これを踏まえ、今後は新王国時代の装身具利用についてより深く追究していく予定である。当該年度でもう一つ大きな成果は、ベルギー滞在中に資料調査の機会を得られ、オブジェクト・フリーズと呼ばれる木棺に描かれた図像・文字資料を多数集成できたことである。中王国時代の木棺関連資料を集成することは極めて困難であると言われており、大きな成果であった。今後はこの資料をもとに、さらに中王国時代の装身具利用をエミックな視座から分析・考察していく。

In the future, the data of the clothing and equipment utilization in the Meng Wubo era will be analyzed and investigated.
