项目摘要

当該年度は①後藤梨春『竜宮船』論、②平賀源内『根南志具佐』のカッパ図、③日本近世中期を中心とした医学思想の展開、の3点を中心に考察を進めた。①後藤梨春は江戸の本草学者であり、『竜宮船』は彼の戯作である。報告者は『竜宮船』で弁惑の対象とされている記事の元ネタに、貝原益軒『大和本草』や原省庵『夜光珠』などがあることを明らかにした。また、『竜宮船』での一部の記事が梨春の『古今沿革考』『震雷記』とも関連することも明らかにした。②平賀源内は江戸の博物学者であり、前述の梨春とも親しい間柄にあった。源内の著した戯作『根南志具佐』巻五の挿絵にはカッパが描かれている。そこで、報告者はそのカッパ図に着目することで、本作品の新たな読みとその位置づけを試みた。その結果、1.『根南志具佐』に描かれるカッパ図は、梨春『随観写真』（東京国立博物館蔵）の巻八に描かれるカッパ図をほぼ転写したものであること、2.高松藩主・松平頼恭との関係が浮かび上がってくるということ、3.頼恭・源内・梨春の3人を含む本草学的文化交流圏を背景に、『随観写真』や『根南志具佐』のカッパ図は生まれたのではないかということ、の3点が明らかとなった。なお、上述の研究内容の詳細については、今後正式な学会での発表や論考化を行なう予定である。③梨春や源内らは本草学（博物学）に通じた人物であり、モノに即した実証的な思考態度が特徴的でもあった。また、18世紀を中心とした医学分野の動向においても、やはり観念的な思考態度から実証的なそれへと次第に移っていく様子が確認されている。とくに、古方派と呼ばれる医学派ではその傾向が強いとされる。そこで、本草学とも関係の深い医学分野において、実証的な思考態度がどのように強まっていくのか、その変遷を概観するために、後藤艮山・香川修庵・山脇東洋・吉益東洞の4人を対象とし、彼らの医学思想の展開を改めて追ってみた。
