项目摘要

当初計画で重要な構成要素としていた歴史的ピアノの実物調査について、新型コロナウィルス感染拡大により国外の研究対象地域および研究対象施設での調査が困難になった。そこで、2022年度は当研究の対象時期に東アジアのなかでピアノ産業の重要拠点であった浜松市の楽器・文書資料に調査資源を集中的に投入し、以下の成果を挙げた。2021年度予算はこのうちおもに２）のために執行した。１）浜松市博物館所蔵の大橋幡岩ピアノ資料の整理に協力し、これまでに存在していた暫定的な目録をアップデートした電子版を博物館に研究成果として提供した。２）現在の国内２大メーカーであるヤマハおよび河合楽器製作所が、上記大橋ピアノ資料を接点として協力し、本邦のピアノ産業史研究のための「産館学」、つまり産業、博物館と研究者のネットワークを構築した。それによって、本邦のピアノ産業史の証言者の方々へのインタビュー調査を定期的に実現し、当事者たちの発言記録をとりまとめた。３）本邦のピアノ産業史における重要な資料の検証を行った。なかでも「ピアノ製造出荷考」、通称直吉メモについて、現存する複数の資料の関係を把握する作業を行うとともに、山葉寅楠の資料をまとめようとしていた大野木吉兵衛の取材記録（未完）のデジタル化を進めた。４）東京都港区が所蔵する1902－03年製日本楽器製造グランドピアノについて、１）の大橋ピアノ資料との照合から、その産業史・工芸史上の重要性を明らかにした。当該楽器は2022年度秋に区指定文化財に認定されており、審査の過程で本研究の知見が参照されている。５）これらの「産館学」連携の活動について日本音楽学会第73回全国大会（2022年11月、福岡市）で、審査を経て発表の機会が得られ、現時点での成果を公開した。なお日本音楽学会の研究発表に河合楽器製作所・ヤマハの両社から社員が揃って登壇したのは初めてである。
