项目摘要

①歌唱教材のタイトルに関して、女子教育論や家庭教育論の観点から再検討を行い、当時考えられていた女子の特性（例えば、平和、親切、慈愛）を表すような語が用いられていたことが分かった。また、教科書は、歌唱、基本教練、楽典を中心としたものから、昭和期に楽式や音楽史、鑑賞を含めた総合的な教科書に変化した。授業実践においても、昭和期に教授内容の多様化が見られ、作曲を実践した教師も確認された。こうした変化は、大正期の音楽科教育への批判、新教育、授業時数の減少という複合的な要因から生じたと考えられる。②2022年度は東京府立第二高等女学校卒業生にアンケート調査を実施し、授業や卒業後の音楽とのかかわりについて回答を得た。また、東京府立第三高等女学校の資料調査からは、学校内の環境、授業方法が分かってきた。授業では、研究対象校4校全てで歌唱を中心と指導が行われており、東京府立第一高等女学校でのみ楽器指導が行われていたことが確認された。各校の卒業生が挙げた印象に残っている曲には、《流浪の民》や《ドナウ河の漣》、《希望のささやき》、《美しき青きドナウ》があり、概ね共通していた。③高等女学校は中流の女子が通うことが想定されており、初等教育とは異なる内容であったと考えられる。教科書のタイトルに用いられた語の分析から、初等教育に比べ、高等女学校ではミリタリズムに関する内容の割合が低いことが示唆された。それは、前述の女子の特性とも関連していると考えられる。④高等女学校の生徒には、卒業後、知識等を更新し、子どもに教育することが期待されていた。加えて、音楽では家族の心を明るくし、一家団欒を演出することも求められた。昭和期に入ると、歌えることだけでなく楽式、音楽史を伴った鑑賞ができることも目指されていたことが窺える。よって、高等女学校が洋楽受容の窓口のひとつとして重要な役割を果たしたと考えられる。
