项目摘要

本研究は、高齢者に対する偏見（エイジズム）について、自分がいずれ高齢者、偏見を受ける側になるというエイジズムの特徴に注目して研究を行った。本年度は、まず、大学生の持つ高齢者イメージを質的分析によって明らかにした。大学生を対象とした自由記述調査の分析によって、自己の高齢期としてイメージされる高齢者の生活と他者としてイメージされる高齢者の生活が異なり、自己の高齢期の方がポジティブにイメージされることを明らかにした。この研究結果は神戸大学人間発達環境学研究科紀要にて原著論文として発表した。また、2020年度までに行った研究データを分析し、自己の高齢者化を意識することがエイジズムに与える影響を検討するモデルを作成した。具体的には、20-70代の社会人大学生約250人を対象とした実験データから、死に対する脅威がエイジズムに与える影響が年齢によって異なることを明らかにした。また、20-74歳の一般住民1500人を対象とした調査データから、中年期から高齢期への境界年齢において、老いに対する脅威への対処方略が他の年齢と異なることを明らかにした。さらに、このモデルについて、一般住民を対象とした調査を実施し、モデルの妥当性を検証した。この調査は郵送調査を行う予定であったが、コロナ禍の現状を鑑み、複数人での長時間の発送作業を必要としないインターネット調査に変更した。調査会社に依頼し、40～70代の男女計800人を対象に調査を行い、共分散構造分析を用いて分析した。研究課題の最終年度として、研究成果の公表を行った。前述の紀要論文に加え、死の脅威がエイジズムに与える影響に関する論文、年齢によるエイジズムの変化に関する論文、エイジズムとサクセスフル・エイジングの関係に関する論文、の3つの英文論文を執筆した。また、2018年からの本研究課題に関わる研究を統合し、博士論文として執筆した。
