The doctoral thesis was finished in time and two journals were published. The one published in the Journal of Engineering Structures presented the tall building’s seismic response when one or two layers of damped-outriggers are adopted. It has indicated that the seismic response of the building can be slightly improved if additional one damped-outrigger is adopted. However, the additional damped-outrigger can help in reducing the maximum inter-story drift response efficiently. The detail of the damped-outrigger design was published in the journal of Japan Architectural Review. Several configurations of damped-outrigger system incorporating buckling-restrained brace (BRB) were presented. This paper provided a more clear design method with several examples for the practicing engineers. It is hoped that the concept of damped-outrigger system can be learned by more Japanese practicing structural engineers.This research was presented in three conferences during the past one year. Two international conferences hold in Taipei and Tokyo were participated by many foreign researchers and scholars. The Architecture Institute of Japan annual conference hold in Kanazawa was also participated by many Japanese professors and students. The responses from the audiences were positive, and a lot of suggestions were given.
