项目摘要

本研究では我々が音声を聞いて話し手の印象を形成する仕組みを体系的に解明することを目的としている。具体的には、我々が音声を聞いて話し手の印象を形成する仕組みには、言語文化の違いを超えた普遍性と個別言語文化による特殊性があると仮定し、社会認知や動物の発声における知見を基に、音声に基づく印象形成の3次元モデル（warmth, competence, activity）を提唱する。そのモデルを研究期間を通して合計8つの言語における聴取実験を行うことによって検証し、モデルの普遍性と個別言語文化の特殊性をあぶりだす。研究の5年目であった2022年度は2019年度に準備した音声資料から選択した音声を刺激音として用い、被験者に想起する人物像の印象を自由に記述させる実験を遂行する予定であったが、コロナ禍での実験実施に対応できず、実施できずに終了した。しかしながら、2021年度に研究発表を行った、日常発話音声ではほとんど出てこないが演劇や吹替でやくざやチンピラなどの悪役の登場人物の役割語として用いられる顫動音（いわゆる巻舌）について、1930年代以降の映画やテレビドラマの音声を対象として行った調査に基づき、このような創作の世界では顫動音が元は江戸・東京の人物を描くために用いられていたのが、後になって地域性を無視して悪役と結びつくようになったことを観察したプロジェクトを論文の形でまとめることができた。このような単音レベルのバリエーションが聞き手に与える印象は、当初本研究が体系的に調査しようとしていたモデルと比較すると、周辺的かつ局所的にしか全体的な印象に寄与しない可能性も考えられるものの、歴史的な発展をたどることができる可能性など学術的に興味深い発展の可能性が見いだせるため、文献的調査を行いながら、顫動音が聴覚印象や人物の印象形成に与える影響の言語を超えた普遍性についても検討を続ける。

This study aims at understanding the relationship between the voice and the hand. Specific, self-sound, speech, hand impression formation, organization, language culture, universality, individual language culture, particularity, stability, social cognition, animal sound, knowledge, sound-sound, impression formation, three-dimensional (warmth, competence, activity) promotion.
