项目摘要

研究計画に則り、以下を行った。ソースコミュニティの人々による「もの語り」映像記録の和訳と映像編集（字幕挿入と関連画像挿入）を済ませた28本を、国立民族学博物館2階本館展示場のデータステーションで一般公開した（館内イントラネット配信）。査読付き共編著を一冊刊行した。『Collections Review on 26 Items Labeled “Hopi” in the National Museum of Natural History (Smithsonian Institution): Reconnecting Source Communities with Museum Collections 10』（国立民族学博物館フォーラム型人類文化アーカイブズ資料集、創刊号）。世界的トップジャーナルの一つ『Current Anthropology』に本研究の概要とそこから導き出されうる人類学博物館の課題を掲載した。北海道白老のウポポイ（民族共生象徴空間）で初開催したアイヌアートショーの立ち上げに協力した。アイヌ民族文化財団職員に助言を行いながら、ソースコミュニティへの配慮／との交流を最重要視した企画として立案し、開幕講演会の講師を務めた。1970年代に民博がハワイで購入した人骨製資料は、アメリカ先住民宗教自由法に抵触する可能性が否めない。そのため当該資料の展示（民博企画展）に際して、展示実行委員長、事務職員、役職者に取扱いの注意喚起した。具体的には、ソースコミュニティの人々との意見交換、および、日本国著作権法に抵触する資料複製（画像）の公衆送信の取りやめを提案した。この提案はソースコミュニティとの対話やコンプライアンスを重視する民博のミッションにも合致すると思われたものの、結果として、会期中その人骨は展示され続け、展示会場VR画像は会期終了後も公衆送信され続けている。
