项目摘要

本研究は、フィールドデータのアーカイブ・システムづくりを目的とする。伝統的なフィールド調査では、調査者の共通語での質問に話者が自分の言語で答える形式が主に採用されているが、このような手法にはいくつか問題がある。1.研究者自身の疑問に答えるために作った調査票で質問しているため、研究者の調査のバイアスを排除できない。2.日本の多くの言語・方言は、このまま何もしなければ数十年後にはなくなってしまうので、母語話者に尋ねる形式の研究方法は持続可能ではない。3.2019年末から流行しているCOVID-19のような感染症が再び蔓延すれば、調査に行くことが不可能となり研究遂行に支障をきたす。また、データをネットワーク上で共有するだけでなく、協働して調査・研究を行うことは、現地の(特に若い)人たちへの還元となる。将来的に彼らが地元のことばを学ぶ、研究するときに、すでに誰でも利用可能な形でデータが公開されていれば、それを用いて学ぶ(研究する)ことができる。消滅の危機に瀕する言語・方言の調査手法は転換の必要に迫られており、上述の方法論を確立することで新しい研究手法と問いが生まれる。2022年度は、フィールド調査のメタデータ構造をRDF化したモデルを提案し、国際会議（Language Documentation and Conservation）で発表した。ほぼ月１回の会合を行い、調査データのTEI構造、現地との協力体制、データの共有システム、メタデータなどについて議論を行った。また、特に日本本土の方言の言語コードが不足しているため、言語コードをどのように設定すれば良いかという議論を方言研究者、規格化の専門家などを交えて行った。
