项目摘要

本研究は、近代的職場環境とフィルムスタイルの観点から、日本映画史を捉え、初期トーキー映画製作所「P・C・L」（のちの映画会社「東宝」）が1933年から 1938年の間に日本映画界に与えた影響力を考察するものである。その影響力を考察することにより、日本の大衆文化や戦前映画業界の特性を解明する。初年度の令和3年度は、P・C・Lが生み出したトーキー映画のモダンなフィルムスタイルをよりよく理解するため、トーキー時代に於ける弁士や活弁文化を中心に研究を行った。これを元にして一つ海外出版予定の論文を提出した：「Benshi in the Era of the Talkie」『The World of the Benshi』 Yanai Initiative and the UCLA Film & Television Archiveによる出版　[2024出版予定].また、木村荘十二監督の1930年代のトーキー映画のスタイルについて分析して、結果の一部は令和5年度の二つ国際会議「European Association of Japanese Studies」と「Aesthetics of Early Sound Film Revisited:　Hybrid Films Between Silent and Sound」に発表する予定である。「European Association of Japanese Studies」には『からゆきさん』（1937年）の映画スタイルと政治的な内容についての分析を紹介する。「Aesthetics of Early Sound Film Revisited」には木村監督の初期トーキー作品のサウンドと編集の取り扱い方についての分析を紹介する。

This study examines the modern workplace environment, the history of Japanese photography, and the influence of the Japanese photography industry from 1933 to 1938. The influence of Japanese popular culture and the characteristics of the former film industry were investigated. In the first year and the third year, P·C·L was born and studied. The World of the Benshi Yanai Initiative and the UCLA Film & Television Archive. The first part of the analysis of the 1930s film by Kimura Shoji, and the second part of the five-year international conference "European Association of Japanese Studies" and "Aesthetics of Early Sound Film Revisited: Hybrid Films Between Silent and Sound" were scheduled. "European Association of Japanese Studies" introduces the analysis of the content of the film ""(1937) "Aesthetics of Early Sound Film Revisited" introduces Kimura's early works and their compilation and analysis.
