本研究の目的は、遺伝性疾患を有する子どもの家族のコーテシースティグマに対するコーピングと適応プロセスについて明らかにすることである。本研究は、申請者らによって実施したDown症候群を有する子どもの親の対人関係にまつわる研究の成果を基盤としたものである。申請者らは、Down症候群を有する子どもの親は、多様なコーテシースティグマを認識、経験することがあり、それらに対して内的/外的、受動的/能動的で分類されるコーピングを用いること、そしてDown症候群のある人とない人との間である中間的立場から、各々の壁のない脱境界に至るプロセスを提案した。本研究では、コーテシースティグマのコーピングと適応プロセスに関して、Down症候群を有する子どもの親以外の家族である祖父母や同胞を対象としたインタビュー調査と、Down症候群以外の遺伝性疾患を有する子どもの親を対象としたアンケート調査を実施する予定である。本年度は、Down症候群を有する子どもの家族を対象とした調査にあたり、Down症候群に関する家族会の方と、調査を実施するにあたっての対象となる候補の方や、人数等について打ち合わせを行い、インタビュー調査参加者のリクルートに関する研究協力が得られる体制を整えた。遺伝性疾患を有する子どもの親を対象とした調査に関しては、文献調査や学術集会における情報収集などにより、アンケートを実施する対象疾患について検討するとともに、研究計画やアンケートの作成等を行った。
