本研究「明治初期の国際的気象観測網構築過程に関する研究：日本アジア協会等の役割を中心に」は、日本アジア協会と国際気象会議の役割を調査し、国際的な気象観測網構築過程への日本の参画実態を解明することにより、日本の気象学史を再検討するものである。1.研究代表者と研究協力者は、毎月、遠隔または対面にて気象学史研究会を開催し、James Rodger Fleming著Historical Perspectives on Climate Changeを精読し、気象学史の先行研究や方法論の検討を行った。2.研究代表者と研究協力者は、2023年1月に広島市江波山気象館にて、スミソニアン協会によるDirections for Meteorological Observations, and the Registry of Periodical Phenomena（以下Directions）の邦訳とされる『気象要略書』を中心に、同館所蔵資料調査を行った。3.研究代表者は、2023年2月に国立国会図書館関西館にて、Directionsの邦訳であり内務省から刊行された『気象観測法』を確認した。さらに、Directions、内務省刊本『気象観測法』、『気象要略書』の比較を行った。『気象要略書』は、内務省刊本とは異なる訳語が用いられており、刊本の写本でないことが明らかとなった。また、『気象要略書　表解』はDirectionsの邦訳ではないことが判明したため、引き続き調査を続けることとした。4.毎月行った研究会での議論の成果については、研究協力者との共著で「気候変動をめぐる科学史：ジェイムズ・フレミング著『気候変動に関する歴史的視点』について」を執筆して公表した（印刷中）。また、広島調査の研究成果については、研究代表者が「広島市江波山気象館所蔵『気象要略書』について」を執筆して公表した（印刷中）。

This study is entitled "A Study on the Construction Process of International Meteorological Networks in the Early Meiji Period: A Review of the Construction Process of International Meteorological Networks in Japan by the Japan Meteorological Association," and a Review of the History of Meteorological Studies in Japan. 1. Research representatives, collaborators and collaborators, James Rodger Fleming, Historical Perspectives on Climate Change, and methodological discussions 2. "The Book of Revelation" is the book of Revelation, the book of Revelation. 4. The discussion results of the monthly research meeting were published by the research collaborators and co-authored by the author of "History of Science in Weather and Change: A View of History in Weather and Change"(in print). The author of the research results of the Hiroshima survey is the author of the "Outline of the Weather" published by the Hiroshima City Eamayama Museum (in print).
