本研究では、中国清代（1636～1912）にフランシスコ会修道士が編纂した漢語の語彙集である『漢西字典』（1740年頃）に着目し、康煕52（1713）年成立の字典『漢字西譯』など他の関連資料との内容の比較を行い、『漢西字典』に収録される独自の語彙について具体的に検討を加える。この作業を通して、『漢西字典』所収の語彙に反映される音韻特徴や、語彙の来源について考察し、清代の言語状況や宣教師資料の編纂過程の一端を明らかにすることにつなげ、近世漢語史研究の進展に資することを目的とするものである。2022年度については、『漢西字典』の収録字に記されている解説などの情報を、先述の『漢字西譯』や、バイエルン州立図書館に所蔵されるという『漢西字典』など他資料のものと一字ずつ比較する作業を行った。これら他資料にみられる語彙や解説は、『漢西字典』にみえる内容と一致する部分が多く、『漢西字典』にみえる誤りや不鮮明箇所などを修正する点においても有用である。これらは『漢西字典』編纂に際して用いられた資料と何らかの関連を有していることがうかがえ、『漢西字典』の内容を深く考察する上で欠かせない。このほか、今年度においては、収録される語彙と中国古典籍にみえる記述との内容的関連についても調査を行った。また、上記の作業と並行して、1765年ごろには原型が完成していた可能性のある漢語の文法書『俗にマンダリンと呼ばれる漢語の技法』について、序文から第二章にいたるまでの部分の日本語訳を行った。『漢西字典』と成立の時期がそれほど離れていないこの漢語文法書には、当時の漢語の音韻に関する具体的な記述もあるため、この文法書に記される漢語の音韻面について整理することで、『漢西字典』を考察する上での参考資料として活用することを試みた。
