【目的】南米のボリビアには、1955年前後に創設された２つの日本人移住地がある。日本全国から移住者が集ったサンフアン移住地と、沖縄県出身者のみで構成されるオキナワ移住地である。本研究は、両移住地創設から現在に至るまでの約70年間における〈子どもの名づけ〉の歴史的変遷（動態）ついて、社会言語学的な調査研究を行うことを目的とする。【2022年度の主な研究成果】当初（2021年9月提出）の研究計画では，2022年度はサンフアン移住地（ボリビア）と長崎の「カトリック集落」を訪問調査する予定であった。しかし，新型コロナウイルス感染症(COVID-19)の感染状況が落ち着かず，現地調査は不可能であった。このため，2022年度は，①〈子どもの名づけ〉に関する先行研究の渉猟と整理，②ゼミ学生の卒論指導における〈子どもの名づけ〉研究の推進を行った。①について，〈子どもの名づけ〉について日本語学・社会言語学の手法によって考察する先行研究は多くない。2022年度はその渉猟と整理に努めた。②について，1名のゼミ学生が，1980年前後生まれと2000前後生まれの〈子どものなづけ〉に関する卒業論文を執筆した。分析の観点として，名前の拍数，文字数，音（音象徴：共鳴音と阻害音），漢字・かな・カナを設定した。いずれも，20の間に変化が見られ，〈子どものなづけ〉に時代的変遷のあることが確認された。この卒業論文について，一部修正を施し，紀要論文として公表予定である。今後，この結果を南米ボリビアの日本人移住地における〈子どもの名づけ〉の傾向と比較する予定である。なお，年度をまたぐが，2023年4月28日（木曜日）にごく内輪の研究会であるが，上記《1・2》および本科研の目的，方法，仮説等について報告し，研究遂行のうえで，有意義な助言を受けた。
