项目摘要

初年度の研究においては、動画の構成の概要調査と英文法の導入領域の動画作成となる。現場の教員への調査結果をもとに、学習教材として適切な長さや色の使い方、また文字の大きさにはじまる見せ方など、多様な背景をもつ学習者が興味を持って継続的に学習していける動画の構成になるのかを調査した。英文法の導入領域に関しては、現行の教科書においても文法の解説はなされているが、1ページに占める文字数や解説の内容が多く、初めて英語を学習する学習者にとってはかなりの精神的負担になり、文法理解のハードルを上げることになる、との意見が今回の調査で明らかになった。結果、当初の予定より1本の動画内容を細分化し、1本の動画には1つの内容のみをより平易に取り扱うことが大切であると判明した。当初は1本10分程度の動画を計画していたが、可能な限り5分程度の長さに縮めていく方向で作成を進めていくこととなった。動画内に使われる英語音声も、男性音声のほうが聴き取りやすいとの実験結果もあるが、反面、女性の英語音声の方が聴き取りやすい学習者も少数ではあるが存在しているのも確かである。従って、英文の英語音声に関しては男女両方のものを使用していくこととなった。文字の見えやすさに関しては、単に文字を大きくすればいいのではなく、全体とのバランスが重要であるため、より多くの使用者のフィードバックが必要であり、ある程度、動画を実際に使用した後に改善していくことが望ましいとの結論に至った。
