项目摘要

本研究は、歴史認識の思想的な源泉がどのように形成されて普及したのかという核心的な問いを、史学史研究とは全く異なる史料とアプローチの方法を取って行うものである。従来の史学史研究では分析の対象は、主に書籍が中心であった。しかし、本研究ではこれらの史学史では取り上げてこなかった伝記、新聞や雑誌記事などの史料も分析する。同時に、歴史叙述と重大事件や重要人物の関係を探るなどの全く異なるアプローチの方法を取り、メディアとの関係や、重大事実・事件との関連性を探る。まず、今年度は幕末から明治期にかけて出版された風説書、大衆向けの読み物、歴史的事件と人物に関する伝記の研究を進めた。当時、社会的に影響を与えるような歴史的事件が発生すると、その事件に関連する風説書や新聞記事を編集した様々な形態の読み物が出版された。これらは多くは民間で出版され、その読者も知識層から民間の一般人までと幅広いものであった。特に大衆はこれらを読んで、当時の社会的な事件や人物についての認識を深めた。本研究ではこれらの歴史叙述や伝記について考察を行い、その成果を日文研の研究班で発表し、また日文研の広報誌にエッセイとして掲載した。同時に論考としても出版物に掲載をした。また国際的な研究会や学会に関しては、台湾中央研究院にて行われた伝記をテーマとした国際シンポジウムにオンラインで参加し、主に中国の伝記に関して様々な観点から考察を行った。同時に、これもオンラインであるが、アメリカにおけるアジア研究の最大の学会であるAASにおいても、発表をおこなった。ただ、今年度は国際的な会議への直接対面での参加にはいまだに様々な制限はあったため、主にオンラインでの参加となった。
