项目摘要

本研究の目的は、米軍統治下の沖縄における法・秩序・身体に注目し、占領と冷戦がもたらした社会変容について検証することである。米軍人関連の犯罪や反共主義による政治事件に巻き込まれた住民、米軍関連の歓楽街で働き、売買春の対象とされた女性たち、感染症対策の対象にされた住民、「国際児」と呼ばれた米軍人を父とする子ども・母親・家族、また「非琉球人」として管理の対象となった外国人等に焦点を当てている。彼らを取り巻く法と秩序、政策や制度等がどのように形成され、運用されたのか、また、人びとの生活にどのような影響を与えたのかを考察することによって、占領と冷戦の影響を受けた戦後沖縄社会全体の変容を考察する。2022年度は、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大に伴う制限により、予定していた米国国立公文書館他における日本未公開公文書の調査が不可能となったため、琉球大学附属図書館所蔵の琉球列島米国民政府裁判所の裁判記録をデジタル化と分析を中心に、収集・閲覧が可能な資料の調査をおこなった。いくつか課題は残されているが、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大のなかでありながら、研究に進捗が見られた。戦後沖縄刑事法制史の基礎調査、政治事件に関する基礎調査、米軍から「非琉球人」として管理の対象とされた外国人の管理、また、2023年度での海外調査を視野に、国際福祉の資料整理と聞き取り調査等の予備調査をおこなった。研究代表者と研究分担者は、共同研究会を開催し、社会変容と制度の変化が人びとの秩序意識に与えた影響の検証をおこなった。その際、研究協力者（親川裕子）と連携し、それぞれ、沖縄現代史（政治史・社会史）、刑法学（戦後沖縄刑事法制史）、沖縄のジェンダー／女性や国際人権論、東アジア現代史等の観点から、意見交換をおこなった。また、売春と刑事法、政治事件、外国人の地位と処遇等について、成果の一部を論文や口頭発表によって発表した。
