项目摘要

研究計画に 1年目には、東日本（越後・奥州南部）にも拡げ、畿内大和を含め、地理的拡大、事例の豊富化を図る。越後国・奥州南部地域の「行き倒れ」事例分析のため、国文学研究資料所蔵文書を用いるが、すでに一部を収集済みであり、追加撮影する。また畿内の事例追加については、大和の事例追加、紀州・勢州の紀州藩領の活字史料の分析着手を掲げた。この研究計画に従い、以下の史料収集、解読、分析、論文作成を行った。1、奈良県立図書情報館で大和国葛下郡牧浦家文書・添上郡今西家文書等の閲覧撮影を行った（8月）。東京都立中央図書館で『雑書（南部藩家老席日記）』から関係史料を閲覧し複写した（10月・12月・2月）。国文学研究資料館で陸奥国踏瀬村箭内家文書等の閲覧と史料撮影を行った（12月・2月）。東京都立公文書館で「撰要永久録」を閲覧し複写資料を収集した。この史料収集の過程で新しく下層武家の流動的他出「風（ふ）と出」が発見された。2、越後国頸城郡佐藤家文書など以前に撮影収集していた史料の解読を進めたが、まだ分析途中であり、現地踏査を行えていない。したがって成果は未発表。3、活字史料を用いて、紀伊半島（紀州藩領）における17世紀段階の移動層に関する政策分析の論文を作成し、投稿した（掲載は確約済み）。中後期については未着手である。研究計画に記した目的の1である、近世の行き倒れを生み出す村共同体につながった移動層、共同体から実質離脱した廻国者、「無宿」流動層、これらを包括する歴史概念として「流動層社会」（あるいは「流民層社会」）という仮説を提案しているが、その構造を解明するための作業を進めることができた。ただしコロナ感染症拡大のため作業が滞っている面もある。
