研究代表者である菅は、環太平洋の移住と移動、特に19世紀中葉における日本人の移動を包括的に理解するため、オンラインデータベース等を新たに発掘し、またその史料を構造的に把握し、駆使するための検討を重ねた。加えて横浜の開港資料館など、国内に存在する史資料の把握と入手に努めて、史料論の検討を着実に進めた。また日本史の知見を積極的に取り入れることで環太平洋世界の移住に日本側の史料による光を当てることが出来た。これらの検討の成果は、2年目の学会発表や書物・論文等によってアウトリーチが行われる。分担者の兼子は、海外での資料調査が前年に引き続き困難であったため、すでに収集することができた第二次大戦後のLGBTQ関連の一次史料の整理と読解を進めた。また、関連する二次文献の収集と分析も同時に進めることで、今後の研究の準備を進めることができた。その成果については、4本の論文になって結実している。分担者の佐原は、海外での史料調査および収集が新型コロナウイルスの影響で困難な状況であったため、すでに入手している難民定住にかかわる史料の読解と二次文献の読解を進めた。それによって、今後の研究の準備を進めることができた。分担者の李は、日米のコリア系移民女性を事例とした環太平洋地域のマイノリティとインターセクショナリティの調査と研究を進めた。ただし、新型コロナウィルスの影響で渡航が困難であったため、調査についてはすでに入手している移民女性に関する資料の分析を国内で進めた。またアメリカでの学会報告を2件予定していたが、オンラインに切り替え、オンラインを通して環太平洋地域（韓国・ハワイ・アメリカ・ニュージーランド・日本）の研究者とのネットワーク構築を進めた。国際学会を含む学会での招待講演と報告を行い、本研究の中間報告の形でアウトリーチすることが出来た。

Examples of female immigrants who share the burden, including Lee and Himi, are from the Pacific Rim region.のマイノリティとインターセクショナリティのinvestigationとを进めた.ただし、New type of コロナウィルスの Impact でFerry がdifficulty であったため、Investigation についてはすでに开户しているImmigrant women に关するinformationのanalysesをdomesticで入めた.またアメリカでの Society Report を2 items are scheduled to be released していたが, オンラインにcutり台え, and オンラインを通して环太平The researcher of the foreign region (Korea・ハワイ・アメリカ・ニュージーランド・Japan) constructed the project by Tosuke Shin. The reception lecture and report of the Institute of International Studies and the Intermediate Report of this study were released.
