本年度は、主に女性の機会費用の代理変数である賃金が親への援助方法に与える影響について分析を行った。具体的には、先行研究にならい親への経済援助と介護の同時性を考慮したモデルで女性の賃金が親への経済援助と介護の予定に与える影響について分析を行った。現段階の分析の結果からは、女性の賃金が高くなるにつれ親への経済援助を行う確率が上昇することが確認できた。その一方、配偶者である男性の親については女性の賃金が高くなると経済援助及び介護を、ともに行わない確率が上昇することが示された。これらの結果は、当初考えていた仮説と一部異なる結果となっており、解釈については先行研究や日本社会の現状などを踏まえたうえで慎重に考えたい。また、これらの結果は申請者が以前に現在利用可能なデータよりも短い期間で分析した結果とは異なる部分もあり、これは世代の違いを反映している可能性が考えられる。この点に関する分析については次年度以降の課題としたい。他方、労働時間や家事時間などと経済援助や介護の同時性を考慮したモデルで分析を行うために先行研究はすでに読んではいるものの、当初利用予定のデータの他に、より適切なデータがないか様々なデータベースを検索中であり、適切なデータを用いて分析を行うことも次年度の課題としたい。これらに加えて本研究の他の研究課題についても予備的な分析を行うとともに先行研究の整理などを行ったうえで、より適切な分析手法を決定した。
