项目摘要

本年度は昨年に引き続き主に子どもの性別と教育投資に関する研究を行い、とりわけ親の性別役割意識の影響に焦点を当てた分析を行った。具体的には、親の性別意識が高い家庭における教育投資や進学希望への男女差に関する分析を行うとともに、第1子が女児の家庭における親の性別役割意識の違いが教育投資や進学希望に与える影響について分析を行った。現段階で確認できた結果は下記の通りである．まず性別役割意識の高い家庭における男女差に着目した場合、第一に、全体のサンプルでは娘の方が息子よりも習い事の支出が高い傾向にあり、それを夫婦の学歴の組み合わせ別に検証した場合は、大卒同士以外の夫婦においては全体のサンプルと同様の結果であるのに対して大卒同士の夫婦においては学校外の学習費と習い事ともに娘の方が多く支出されている傾向にあることが確認された。第二に、進学希望に関する分析からは、性別役割意識の高い家庭において女児の方が男児よりも高い学歴を希望しない傾向にある一方、大卒同士の夫婦に限定すると逆の結果が観察された。他方、第1子が女児の家庭における性別役割意識の違いが与える影響に着目した場合、第一に、大卒同士の夫婦においては性別役割意識の高い家庭の女児の方が低い家庭の女児よりも教育投資に多くの支出をしてもらっているが、大卒同士以外の夫婦では性別役割意識の違いによる教育投資の差は観察されないことが判明した。また第二に、進学希望に関して大卒同士の夫婦では性別役割意識の違いによる有意差は観察されない一方で，大卒同士以外の夫婦では，性別役割意識の高い家庭の方が高い学歴を希望しない傾向が，低い家庭に比して相対的に弱まることも明らかになった。さらに、これらの分析に加えて兄弟構成を考慮したモデルについても分析を行った。今年度得られた結果と昨年度得られた結果を踏まえて、先行研究などを参考に慎重に検討を重ねたい。
