本研究は人口減少，高齢化が進行する環境下での企業の適応行動とその環境要因を明らかにし，条件不利地域での企業行動原理の解明を目指している。人口減少，高齢化の先進地は国内では総務省の指定する条件不利地域として定義される。過疎化が最も進行する島根県内の企業を中心に条件不利地域企業を対象としアンケートとヒアリング調査を実施中である。今年度は条件不利地域の企業経営に強く影響している外部環境要因を整理し，人口減少による環境要因と特徴を明らかにするためヒアリング調査を実施した。結果として，企業と外部環境は各活動が網羅的に連鎖しているため企業単体での状況悪化という事態に終わらず，地域社会全体として負の連鎖が起きている状況である。また域内循環率が低下していることが人口減少に大きく影響しているため，企業経営とその基盤となる地域全体への対策が必要となっている。人口減少により物流機能が大きく低下し社会インフラの低下が著しい。地域企業を支援する金融機能，行政支援の弱化が条件不利地域での環境要因として特徴的である。企業調査では需要縮小などの外部環境変化に対する各社の取り組み状況についてヒアリングを行った。需要縮小にともなう業界内統廃合の各時期において，それぞれ業界再編がおこり企業数が減少する。企業数減少に伴って，各社は共同生産体制で生産の集約を狙い稼働率向上，コストダウンを図ることや協同販社設立による共存的行動を展開してきた。一定水準以上の需要縮小が発生するなど外部要因の変化を契機に，業界で危機感が共通認識化されることで共存行動へ移行している。この過程から競争基調から需要縮小を経て産地および個社の生き残りの協調基調へ企業行動が適応変化していることが示唆された。

It is necessary to reduce the number of enterprises in the industry during each period of integration, and to reduce the number of enterprises in the industry.
