项目摘要

本年度は市販ゲームの調査を中心に実施した．まず，有料，無料の双方の市販ゲームの詳細な部分を調査して，Edutainmentとして活用できる教育要素を引き出せる部分を調査した．主に３つの成果があった．一つ目は「論理思考」を育成するためのRPGゲームのスクリプト制作（簡単なプログラミングのようなもの），二つ目は「経営」の知識を訓練できる経営シミュレーションゲーム，三つ目は「リテラシー教育」に利用できる操作や新デバイスを使いこなす能力のためのゲームである．一つ目の「論理思考」は従来のロボット教材のタイルプログラミングなどに類似している．二つ目は本格的な経営を学ぶにはゲーム内容に依存しすぎており，経営の知識獲得するには不十分ということがわかった．つまり，当初は「論理的思考」や「専門知識」の獲得が市販ゲームを調査することによって，楽しんで獲得できると想定したが，予想に反して市販ゲームをあえて使うことの利点が明確にならないことが分かった．したがって，本研究では「リテラシー教育」にターゲットを絞ることとした．着目した理由は「初めて利用する市販ゲームをサクサクと操作して楽しめる人と，すぐに行き詰って遊ぶことを断念する人の２種類に明らかに分かれる」ということが予備実験で明確になったためである．この現象は社会問題となっている「デジタルデバイド」問題を示唆していると気づくことができた．つまり，市販ゲームを使った「リテラシー教育」を構築することで「デジタルデバイド」という社会問題の解消につながるのではないかと気づいた．市販ゲームを使った予備実験を実施した結果をより詳細に分析し，初心者や情報弱者がどこで断念するか，どこで行き詰るかを検証した．その結果，予備実験結果から「用語」の理解不足と「操作」の行き詰まりが，新しい機器やゲームを操作するときの主な原因になる可能性が高いところまで明確となった．
