研究代表者は文献調査によりフランスのテロワールチーズについて取りまとめ、書籍として刊行した。フランスのサヴォワ地方を事例に、1960年代からの農業近代化と並行して、近代化に適さない山岳地帯では農業普及員らの努力により、当時、進みつつあったスキーリゾート開発と連携しつつ、テロワールチーズ（ボーフォール、アボンダンスなど）の振興がなされた。酪農家は冬季でのスキー場での勤務などとの兼業により酪農経営を展開することができた。また夏にはスキー場は放牧地帯となる。夏と冬のバカンス期間で、これらのテロワールチーズが高価で販売されている実態を、文献研究から明らかにした。研究分担者（木村、陣内）はイタリアのアマルフィ海岸で現地調査を行い、地理的表示産品について、また地産地消的活動（キロメートル・ゼロ）について、それぞれ実態調査を行なった。アマルフィではテリトーリオ（地域）のアイデンティティが近代化により衰退していたが、ワインツーリズム（エノガストロノミア）を中心に食を通じた都市と周辺の農村との関係の復活により、地域振興がなされてきた。この地域では世界遺産であるアマルフィ海岸の海岸沿いに観光開発がなされてきたが、内陸部が取り残されていた。こうした背景において、都市と農村の関係性が新しい観光資源として高付加価値化され、小規模な家族農業が維持されている。アマルフィ海岸の各所にスローフード・マーケットの展開が見られるのである。さらにこの海岸のレストランでも「キャンティやバローロなどの有名銘柄のワイン」を求めていた観光客も、今では地元のワインや食事を楽しむようになっている（陣内, 2023)。これらの調査結果は、「イタリアのテリトーリオ戦略」（木村、陣内編著、白桃書房）の第二弾として書籍として刊行される予定である。
