咬合と身体平衡機能の関連性に関する研究も多数報告されているが、握力や歩行速度、Timed Up and Go test、重心動揺など各報告で全身機能の評価項目にばらつきがある。そこで日常生活において必要な身体機能である起立動作能力に着目し、握力・開眼片脚立ち, Timed Up and Go test, 5m歩行など各種体力測定とも相関性のある運動機能測定装置 zaRitz BM-220を用いた起立動作能力を用いて評価することとした。現在、160名の被験者の測定を行い、咬合支持域の違いにて群分けを行い、咬合支持域の影響を調査している。また、欠損患者に対する補綴治療の効果として、部分床義歯を装着したもの、インプラント治療をおこなったものの評価も行っている。咬合支持の数や欠損様式など細かく評価できるよう対象者の収集を行っている段階である。
