项目摘要

日本の経済哲学研究は、19世紀末〜20世紀初ドイツの新カント派に学んだ左右田喜一郎によって大正期に始まった。本研究は、左右田及び関連する明治末期〜第二次大戦期日本の研究者、リッケルト等の新カント派、その影響を受けたウェーバー等の認識論・社会科学論の諸文献に基づいて行なわれた。左右田哲学は、リッケルトが提起した問題、即ち(1)自然科学と文化科学の区分、(2)文化科学の目的、(3)文化科学と心理学の関係、(4)文化科学における法的認識の可否、(5)文化科学的認識おける価値と客観性の関係、(6)普遍妥当的価値の可否などを認識しつつ、貨幣論を素材にして概ねリッケルトに依拠して展開された。他方、経済理論としては、メンガーを批判しながたも、その特徴である方法論的個人主義に近い立場をとっていた。左右田の成果は、例えば、フッサール現象学との総合を構想した本多謙三など、後継による新たな方向性が示されたが、本多のマルクス主義への接近にみられるように、十分に展開されずに第二次大戦期に終焉した。ところが、現代の経済学方法論は、主流をなす実証主義に対し、理論の客観性、自然主義的方法の妥当性、他の社会科学領域との関係等々について反省を促しており、これらは新カント派の問題提起と重なり合っている。ウェーバーは新カント派を批判的発展的に継承したが、しかし、貨幣を経済現象の「理念」とする認識論的視座を提示したわけではなく、この点で、左右田哲学の独自性を現代に生かしうる余地は残されていると考えられる。研究代表者は、こうした研究成果を踏まえた経済哲学の現代的可能性に関する著作を、現在準備中である。
