本研究では先ず昨年度において、市場主導型地域貿易協定、政策主導型地域貿易協定の過去から現在にいたる動向調査を行い、次に、APECの進化態様に関する応用一般均衡世界貿易モデル分析では、APECが開かれた地域主義へ、自由貿易世界へと流れる内在誘因を有していることが明らかにされた。本年度においては、海外直接投資(FDI)を通して統合の進む世界経済を俯瞰し、その経済効果を供与国側と受領国側の両面から分析した。まずは、FDIの形成要因やそのインパクトに関する理論的考察と実証的研究のサーベイを行った。次に、FDIの効果にかんして、特に「雇用」や「国際収支」に及ぶ影響について、多くの議論が短期的、部分均衡的であり、FDIというミクロ経済行動の効果が、マクロ経済面にこの様な形で現れると主張することの間違いを正した。規模の経済や不完全競争市場というFDIに纏わる特有の市場構造や、長期における貯蓄・投資バランスへの影響を加味する為に、再度応用一般均衡分析を試み、その結果を政策提言としてまとめ、セミナー活動も行った。一部は「経済分析」に他の部分は名古屋大学APEC研究センターのディスカッションペーパーとするとともに、学術雑誌に投降中である。また、これまでの研究を総合して、本にまとめる作業に取り掛かっている。
