项目摘要

本研究の目的は，乳幼児期における腸内細菌叢の組成・多様性と気質・認知特性との関連およびその年齢ごとのパターンを明らかにすることである．腸内細菌叢と気質との関係を調べた研究は欧米圏を中心に蓄積されつつあるが，乳児期のものがほとんどである．腸内細菌叢の組成や多様性は，生後初期に急速に発達し，3～4歳頃から安定し始める．就学前期は，腸内細菌叢が成人の組成へと発達する重要な時期であるとともに，心理・情動に関する問題も増え始める時期である．しかし，この時期の腸内細菌叢と気質との間にどのような関係があるのかはわかっていない．そこで，本年度はまず，3～4歳を対象に，腸内細菌叢と気質との間にどのような関係があるかを検討した．腸内細菌叢は採便によって計測し，気質の評価には質問紙を使用した．その結果，酪酸産生菌であるFaecalibacteriumなどの腸の抗炎症と関連する菌が多く，Eggerthellaなどの腸の炎症と関連する菌が少ない児ほど，否定的情動性が低く，外向性が高い，つまり，ネガティブ情動の表出やストレス反応が低く，環境（他者・新規刺激）に対して積極的に接近・探索する傾向が高いことが示された．現在，この成果をまとめ，国際学術誌への投稿に向けて準備中である．また，欧米サンプルでみられた腸内細菌叢－気質の関連が日本人の乳幼児期においても再現されるかどうかを検証するため，収集した5ヶ月～2歳児のデータの整理を完了させ，分析の準備を整えた．さらに，各発達時期にどういった腸内細菌叢を持っていることが，その後の腸内細菌叢の発達や，気質・認知機能と関連するのかを明らかにするため，1回目の調査に参加した乳幼児を対象に縦断調査を開始した．
