项目摘要

当年度では、主に「宋代の対外関係における外交文書の代筆」と「宋・東南アジアの関係史」という二つのテーマを主軸に研究を行ってきた。まず「宋代の対外関係における外交文書の代筆」については、宋代の朝貢において宋官僚が外国からの外交文書を代筆する事例を検証し、そのような代筆行為が宋朝の文書行政の中で組織的に行われていた可能性を指摘した。それにより、必ずしも朝貢という理念が共有されていない非対称な対外関係が、代筆という行為を通して朝貢関係に読み替えられていくことを明らかにした。これについては「第23回七隈史学会大会」（2021年9月25日）で研究報告を行い、そこでの意見をもとに内容の再検討を行っている。次に、当年度では「朝貢の上表文における文字・言語」というテーマで、宋代朝貢の外交文書に用いられていた「蕃字」の検討を行うために、朝貢のハブ機能を持つ占城（チャンパー／中部ベトナム）に注目して、ベトナムでの調査を行う予定であった。しかし、コロナ禍の影響により現地調査機関での受け入れが困難であったため、テーマを変更し『宋代とは何か（アジア遊学277）』（勉誠出版、2022年11月）で発表を予定している「宋・東南アジア地域の関係史」についてのまとめを行った。『宋代とは何か（アジア遊学277）』は、多角的視点で宋代中国を捉えなおし、従来の通説とは異なる新たな時代像を提示することを試みた著作である。自身は、東南アジアを中心とする南の海域世界と宋朝との「外交」に関する近年の研究動向をまとめた。その上で、宋朝の海域世界に対する認識の在り方や、海商などの朝貢の媒介者から宋官僚までもが行う外交文書の翻訳行為といった最近の応募者の諸論考を加味し、冊封・朝貢を中心とする宋朝と南の海域世界との外交の実態像を提示した。これについては、当年度1月に初稿を提出しており、最終的に2022年度11月に出版されている。
