项目摘要

課題名にある「日本近世後期儒学者」として、今年度研究対象に採り上げたのは研究計画にも挙げた山梨稲川・古賀精里のほか、彼らとも時代的、人脈的に連関のある大田南畝・浦上玉堂である。山梨稲川については、補助金によって、三度に亘って静岡県立中央図書館と稲川の末褒に当たる山梨治保家にうかがい、資料調査を行った。その結果、稲川漢詩の自筆稿本『稲川詩稿』は、版本『稲川詩草』に収録される以前の作品の形態を知らしめるのみならず、版本によっては知りえなかった各作品の制作年次が明らかにしうることが分かった。古賀精里については、東京都世田谷区静嘉堂文庫所蔵の『精里全書』と版本『精里初集抄』『同二集抄』『同三集抄』とを比較対照した。結果として精里の漢詩の推敲過程が明らかになるばかりか、版本では未詳であった漢詩文の制作年次の大半が、『全書』冒頭の目録に付記されている干支によって明らかになった。大田南畝については、早稲田大学図書館蔵する写本『玉〓遺集抄』を調査し、全集未収録の漢詩文や既知の作品と差異のあるテキストを発見、そのことによって南畝と古賀精里尾藤二州ら、昌平黌儒官との交流のさまが一層明らかになった。また当該写本と東京大学史料編纂所蔵する『北遺言』とを比べることによって、筆録者を精里門下の千坂廉斎であると特定することができた。浦上玉堂については設備備品費似よって購入した中国美術史関係図書を使い、その芸術を中国文人趣味の流れの中に位置付けた。また前半生の儒学的教養が晩年の絵画制作にどう生かされているか、明らかにすべく、その題画詩を調査、従来の評価を少しく変改した。
