2022年度は、ウクライナ情勢のためロシアには渡航できず、日本国内に所在するロシア語文献を中心に調査・収集を進めた。同時に、ロシア人研究者による先駆的論文を翻訳することにより、日本史研究者の利用にも供するよう努めた。その内容は、1867年におけるロシアによるアメリカへのアラスカ売却に伴う露米会社解散後の千島列島の状況を明らかにしたものであり、1875年に結ばれた樺太千島交換条約の平等性の背景をロシア国内の事情から明らかにする手掛かりとなった。また、港町の特性に焦点を当てながらグローカルに小樽を論じた『小樽学-港町から地域を考える』（小樽商科大学出版会発行、日本経済評論社発売）を編集・出版したが、その中の1章として、日露戦争後の樺太境界画定委員会議に関し考察したものを掲載した。1905年のポーツマス条約により日本に割譲された南樺太だが、日本郵船株式会社小樽支店でその実務者協議が行われた。本研究では、この過程を日露関係史及び小樽の歴史の中に位置付け、日露戦争後の友好時代の到来を小樽という地域の視点から浮き彫りにした。一方、研究代表者が主催する日露関係史研究会では、研究例会を3回にわたり開催（第29～31回）した。うち1回は、海外の大学に所属する報告者を招き、当会を国際交流の場とする上で大きな前進をした。またもう1回は、シベリア出兵史研究会との共催を行うことで、他の研究会との交流促進を行った。個人研究を進めるかたわらで、このように研究会運営を促進することにより、日露関係史研究全体の発展に寄与することを目指した。

In 2022, the research and collection center of Japanese language literature in Japan was launched.
