The 3D data and model management related to topology is in various ways of deep concern in the geosciences. Particularly well topological structures can be used for the modeling and managing of geologically or geophysically defined surfaces and solids. Thus, larger units using hierarchical topological G-maps can be defined in different levels of detail. This is done by navigating through different dimensions (0D -1D - 2D - 3D) on so-called orbits that allow the annular navigation between nodes, edges, facets and volumes and even at the time (4D) in a single model. In the continuation phase of the project, the objective is to use this dimensional topology-independent approach to manage the topology of spatial objects from geoscientific 3D models including their temporal dependence directly into a geodatabase, and to link the topogoy with the geometry and geological parameters. As concrete examples of the geo-sciences, the scenarios Piesberg landfill near Osnabrück and the reservoir modeling are considered. Besides the CO2 sequestration in northern Germany - to carry out quantitative assessments of long-term propagation prediction of CO2 in the reservoir rock and perform risk assessment - in cooperation with the applied geo-sciences a scenario of geothermal energy is used, for which there exists a digital 3D reservoir model. The geo-database covers thermodynamic, geological and geophysical parameters in the study area which are highly dependent on time.
