本研究では、外国人の社会的ネットワークと災害時の備えとの関係を明らかにすることを目的に調査を行うための、質問調査用紙を作成している段階である。説明変数（属性、健康状態、社会経済状況）とした。文献検討から抽出した従属変数は、知識として日本の災害のリスクの把握、居住地・住居のリスクの把握、災害発生時の情報収集方法、避難場所の把握とした。態度・認識・行動として、災害に遭遇する危機感（脆弱性）、災害への関心、災害に遭遇した際のイメージ、他者からサポートを得られる認識、被災予測（重大性）、必要な物品の準備、安全な住環境の整備、緊急時の家族等との連絡方法の確保とした。14名の外国人に「日常のネットワークと災害時の経験」をインタビューした内容を質的に分析した結果、【日本社会に居場所のある生活】，【日本での将来を見据えた生活基盤の構築】，【自分を理解してもらえる居心地の良い関係】，【母国とのつながりの維持】，【同国人や多国籍のコミュニティとの関係】，【理解できる言語やSNSでの情報収集】，【日本の保健医療行政への信頼と期待】，【来日目的の達成を優先した付き合い】がわかり、災害時には、【支え・支えられる関係】，【母国との関係から生じる葛藤】，【情報や連絡が取れる安心感】【被災をきっかけに知った隣人や公共サービス】が生じていた（論文作成中）。これらの他者との関係性や役割を質問紙に加え、調査に取り組む。
