1年目（2022年度）の介入書紀・準備期では対象地区（離島）の地域特性、地域力を把握するために資料、書物からの地域調査（フィールドワーク）を行った。また本研究の対象離島の参考・比較するために、近くに位置する離島を訪問し地区概要をまとめた。A離島地区踏査：A村（人口1318人（令和5年1月現在））にある５集落文化的側面、住民の生活状況の把握のため地区踏査を行った。民族館では、A村の歴史や文化財について民俗館スタッフである住民からA村について話を聞くことができた。また、A村の小中学生の人数推移や、島の子供達は高校進学を機に島外に出ること（15の島立ち）の現状について情報を得ることができた。その話の中から、今後、島での子育て支援や場所、子育て世代のニーズなどを把握する必要性が見えてきた。また、研究者としてどのようにフィールドに入り活動をしていくかを検討する機会ともなった。活動に際しては、さらなる地区踏査の実施とA村の基礎資料を収集することが肝要である。A村では「認知症初期支援チーム」が立ち上がり、保健師、包括支援センター職員、診療所スタッフメンバーで、地域に住む認知症を持つ人の支援体制が行われている。本研究のベストミックス近助ケアにおいて支援される側、する側は、多世代間または相互での助け合いとしている。認知症を持つ人への初期集中支援体制は、専門職が担っているが今後は地域住民を巻き込んだ助け合いの構造の手がかりを探る必要がある。
