In this project study , the following three researches were carried out . Almost the studies were undertaken at the short period because considerable phenomena related to environmental change in Antarctic region were detected during the austral spring to summer . The observation , analyses of the date and materials , and discussion at workshops were timely performed and they produced lots of fruitful results .(1) Environmental change in atmosphere and magnetospherePlasma current in magnetosphere was surveyed using HF radar and imaging riometer as well as in mesosphere and thermosphere , and significance and importance of long-term observation in the aurora conjugating zone in the Arctic was confirmed .(2) Environmental change in atmo-hydrosphere and lithosphereData on the relationships between periglacial phenomena and Cenozoic era were comparatively analyzed . In order to establish the date of the rocks at the Sorrondane mountain region , the rock samples are analyzed by mass spectrometer (Ion microprobe) .(3) Marine environmental change in Southern OceanThe possibility of the middle- and long-term observation in the Indian sector in the Southern Ocean was surveyed and the date were analyzed . The present status of international collaborative study , and date bank and marine resources was surveyed .
