GLOBALIZATION OF JAPANESE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY PROJECT APPROACHAs our work is not just mission-oriented, I am hoping that each member develop more interesting works on the line of their own problematique, preferably using these fundamentals. I am now preparing a short history of US-Japan science and technology conflict during the late 80s, in such topics as intellectual property, free-ride theory on basic research, symmetrical access, and more generally competition vs. cooperation problem.PAST ACHIEVEMENTBeside monthly meetings in Japan, we have conducted the following international activities.1997 International workshop at Sapporo, Hokkaido1998 Japanese visit to Berkeley, University of California1999 International workshop at Kona, HavaiiFUTURE SCHEDULENovember, 2000 : finish writing2001 : translation2002 : publicationI am planning to produce two books, one in English and other in Japanese. I am going to apply for translation fund to make them available in both languages.
