英文摘要
Caura intends to develop a revolutionary child-friendly TRL8 real-time continuous glucose monitoring device (CGM) that addresses the main issues associated with current conventional CGM systems. The cost of diabetes to healthcare systems has grown to £558bn globally (£9.8bn NHS) , with the majority of costs associated with the short-and long-term complications of abnormal glucose concentrations. The sensor platform represents a step-change innovation in CGM technology, delivering a solution that is;* Cheaper* Near pain-free* Highly accurate and provides real-time glucose monitoring with no blood draw.* Can be utilised regularly by children and adults. These disruptive innovations have significant potential and will result in a highly-effective CGM device for the NHS that both improves patient access, outcomes and reduces costs of CGM use x4.
