项目摘要

大衆娯楽におけるヴァラエティの伝統を、媒体（メディア）と地域（リージョン）から考察する本研究において、本年度は日本における昭和初期のレヴューとラジオの研究を総括し、それぞれ英語論文と国際学会での口頭発表の形で成果をまとめた。①日本のトーキー移行期とラジオ放送昨年度まで行っていた一次資料の調査をまとめ、研究成果として英語論文を執筆した。論文では、1920年代半ばから30年代半ばにおける映画とラジオの関係を、メディアの多様化と統一化という枠組みから捉え、無声映画期に映画の説明を行っていた弁士が出演するラジオ・ドラマ「映画物語」と、トーキー映画登場前後に映画俳優が出演したラジオ・ドラマ「映画劇」に注目して論じた。執筆した英語論文は、Amsterdam University Pressから出版される戦前日本のサウンド文化をテーマにしたアンソロジーに掲載予定である。②昭和初期の映画興行にみられるレヴュー公演これまで行ってきた一次資料の調査をまとめ、アトランタで開催されたSociety for Cinema and Media Studiesの大会にて口頭発表を行った。この発表は、日米の映画館におけるスクリーンと劇場建築を考察するパネル（Framing the Screen: Theater, Architecture, and Screen Practices）の中で発表したものである。発表後、1910年代に流行したスクリーンとステージの混合（連鎖劇）との比較、アメリカにおける同時期の映画興行との比較といった点から質疑応答が行われ、主に北米・南米の映画興行を研究している研究者と意見交換を行うことができた。

This year's study, which was conducted by the Public Information Agency and the International Society of English Language Studies, includes the results of oral presentations by the Japanese Public Information Agency and the International Society of English Language Studies. 1. Japan's migration period: last year's survey of data, research results and English papers. In this paper, from the 1920s to the 1930s, the relationship between the film and the film is discussed.
