Climate change is already affecting the world, with extreme weather conditions such as drought, heat waves, heavy rain, floods and landslides creating widescale economic and social issues.In order to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, a threshold the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change suggests is safe, carbon neutrality by 2050 is essential.Climate change experts agree that the best way to achieve this goal is by reducing and offsetting carbon emissions.Our project uses various technical and commercial innovations to facilitate the widescale adoption of purchasing relevant carbon offsets.Our project has other potential wider benefits, including economic, social and political, which are also presented for consideration.With Innovate UK's support, we hope to further develop our innovation, which has the potential to help deliver on Government policy, as well as provide new solutions urgently needed for the global battle against climate change.
